HOW OUR COURSE SYSTEM WORKS

 

  1. Pay $899 tuition
  2. Upload proof of qualifications
    1. Nursing license, PT/PTA license, Medical license, Active Military ID with a letter from supervisor verifying MOS/Rate as medic or corpsman.

After your qualifications have been checked, you’ll get confirmation of your start date and receive information that’ll help you hit the ground running when the course begins.

  1. When your cohort’s starting date arrives, you will receive an email from the WOCN Society to create an account and begin the “Welcome Module”  on WOCN’s Continuing Education Center website.  
    1. Remember to register on the WTA site with the same email you used to enroll with WoundNurseTraining.com
    2. Be sure to read the instruction on how to use the web platform
    3. Make sure you get your workbook
  1. Work at your own pace over your cohort’s 3 month enrollment to complete the 14 modules.  If you need help structuring your independent study, check out this sample schedule
  2. Around the 8th week of your enrollment, there will be a Virtual Test Review Day.
    1. You must have an internet connection capable of videoconferencing.  The Virtual Test Review Day is hosted on ZOOMGo here to download ZOOM and install the application for free.
  3. After you finish the modules, you'll request permission to take the tests online.  The tests must be completed and passed before your cohort’s Virtual Applied Learning Day.
  4. During your cohort’s Virtual Applied Learning Day you will be tested on four competencies.
    1. You must be able to provide a training partner (any adult human willing to act as your patient in a virtual classroom will suffice).

You must have an internet connection capable of videoconferencing.  The Virtual Applied Learning Day is hosted on ZOOMGo here to download and install the application for free.

  1. After you've completed and passed the Virtual Applied Learning Day, you’ll need to complete the Course Evaluation to receive your Certificate of Course Completion. Once you have your certificate, you have the verification of earning 32.25 Continuing Education credits to maintain your nursing license.
  2. The certificate is the first step in obtaining your WTA-C credentials.  With 16 hours of preceptorship by a qualified WOCN nurse, you’ll meet the WOCNCB’s WTA-C Eligibility Requirements. 
  3. If you are having difficulty finding a preceptor in your area, we’d be glad to assist you in finding a possible WOCN professional to oversee the remainder of your training.
